Olympus Cameras

A leading name in innovative opto-digital products, Olympus classify themselves as a vision realiser, focusing on the fields of imaging and voice products, endoscopy, microscopy, bioanalytics and diagnostics. The company aims to provide original, high quality products that enable customers to realise their dreams. This is embodied in their slogan: Your Vision, Our Future.

The Developing Lens

The company started life by producing Japan's first microscope under the name Asahi in 1920, then developing the Zuiko lens and the first Olympus camera in 1936. The company achieved a number of notable breakthroughs in their medical equipment, but are probably best known to the public for their cameras and lightweight binoculars. In 1999 they produced the first digital cameras with more than million pixels and worked closely with Kodak to create the FourThirds System, setting a new standard for digital SLR cameras.
Four Thirds System

Olympus' four thirds system was started in order for manufacturers to join forces to try and push the development of the camera in the digital age. As a result, Olympus became the first producers of a digital camera to have a live feed on the viewfinder. This has since become a feature in all major companies' D-SLRs.

Stylish & Creative

Olympus produce a wide range of cameras to ensure there is a camera for everyone. Their stylish cameras sport an ultra compact metal body, whilst their creative range offers complete creative control in the way of enhanced editing features and up to 26x optical zoom. Olympus' D-SLR cameras can produce professional quality imaging, and all Olympus cameras are, above all, easy and fun to use.
