Yorkshire-based technology company Buddy Alert Systems produce a range of personal safety location devices that combine mobile phone and Bluetooth technology.

Child Safety Commitment

Having developed a security system for lone workers, the company wanted to develop a product that would provide a level of personal protection for children. As a result, Buddy teamed up with the award winning charity Bullying Online to develop a low cost, not-for-profit child safety system.

Donations to Bullying Online

The result - launched in 2006 after 3 years of research and development - is a simple, discreet key fob location device that can help children and parents stay in touch and provide a vital link if their safety is threatened.

As part of their commitment to child safety, Buddy Safety Systems have purposely kept costs low. The device is provided free as part of a 12-month service agreement with charges of just 15p per location request or electronic voice notification and 10p per text with emails sent free of charge. In addition, £1 of the £4.99 monthly fee is donated to Bullying Online.
